Mostly toothpaste is used for preventing plaque getting changed to tartar if not removed. Tartar is also known as calculus is a hard mineral compound almost similar to tooth enamel. Mouthwash: The requirement of mouthwash to a person is when there is presence of bad breath on account of halitosis. The statistics on halitosis reveal that almost 50 % of the population suffers from bad breath. The bad breath is due to decay of food sticking on teeth or struck in spaces in between teeth, which is caused by the bacteria. There are certain bacteria harbouring under the tongue which protein content producing foul smelling hydrogen sulphide gas. Mouthwash hinders in the activity of bacterial and also masks the bad breath smell because of strong flavouring agent in it.
