Look younger and healthier with a range of cosmetic procedures

There are many cosmetic practices offered by cosmetic surgeons to improve your appearance. These can roughly be divided into surgical and non-surgical treatments but they all aim to correct minor flaws in the way you look to restore confidence and make you feel happier about yourself.

The surgical procedures are obviously slightly more serious than the non-invasive procedures but they are capable of achieving some incredible results. The number of patients now opting for cosmetic surgery in the UK has grown year on year reflecting the more socially acceptable nature of cosmetic surgery.

Treatments like liposuction and tummy tucks were once very rare but are becoming increasingly common. Both of these procedures aim to reduce the amount of fat you are carrying on your stomach, although liposuction can also be used o the back, neck and thighs to restore the natural attractive curves of the body. Tummy tucks and liposuction both costs in the region of £3,000 to £5,000 but can make a dramatic difference to your appearance.

Facial cosmetic surgery includes facelifts, rhinoplasty (nose surgery) and eyelid surgery. Both facelifts and eyelid surgery are concerned with removing excess tissue from the face to make the patient look younger and more healthy. Rhinoplatsy is a surgery designed to correct noses that are too big, too wide or unevenly shaped. Facial surgery again costs in the region of £3,000 to £5,000 but as the face is the most easily recognisable part of the body it can often be worth the money to be happy with what looks back at you in the mirror. Being embarrassed by your own face can cause depression and many other emotional problems.

Non-invasive treatments include dermal fillers which aim to make the skin of the face firmer and free from wrinkles and lines. They involve very fine injections into the facial tissue to stimulate collage growth, the protein that naturally makes the skin cells firm. Along with dermal fillers there is also botox, a chemical that temporarily paralyses the muscles of the face, which cause lines and wrinkles to appear. Patients who opt for non-invasive treatments also may want to have some cosmetic dentistry such as tooth whitening to complete their new look. The combined effect of smooth, fresh looking skin and white healthy-looking teeth can take years off the appearance of the face and make you look much healthier.
